Love Alpha Fiber Mascara

I’m always on the hunt for a good mascara, and I have tried a lot of different brands, today I want to talk a little about

Love Alpha Fiber Mascara

What is Fiber Mascara?

FIber Mascara incorporates natural fibers either as a separate application or within the mascara that stick onto the lashes in order to make them appear thicker and longer than regular mascara. According to the Love Alpha company “LASH Fibers adhere to your own eye lashes, acting like instant lash extensions.”

Leopard-Eyelash-Extension-Lengthening-Transplanting-Fiber-Mascara-Grower-Makeup In this picture you can see the two applicators. The mascara gel and the fiber wand, as well as the hard case that they come in (the quality of the products and packaging is fantastic!)

How to use:

1) Apply the base gel as you would any normal mascara, from the base of your lashes up to the tips

2) Before the gel dries apply the fibers as you would a normal mascara, in a thin coat

3) Re apply the gel base over the fiber coat to “seal in” the fibers

4) Apply the fibers again but this time only to the tips of the lashes

5) Last step! Apply another layer of gel to lock everything into place

You do have quite a few options with this mascara, you can stop after step 3 if you would like, or you can continue to repeat steps 1-5 as many times as you would like in order to achieve MASSIVE lashes.

Remove:

To remove this mascara soak some cotton pads into warm water, soak your lashes and gently wipe off the mascara. I like to do this as well as use my face cleanser to remove any makeup residue.

So what are my final thoughts?

I think this mascara would be perfect for someone who has shorter lashes, and likes the fake lash look but does not like to apply false lashes. Its also good for anyone who wants the dramatic large lash look.

I personally wouldn’t use this mascara on a regular basis. I’m more on the “lazy” side of beauty and don’t like to put a lot of time and effort into how I look so I prefer a mascara that is faster and easier to use, and since my lashes are already on the longer side I don’t necessarily need something that will add this much length…BUT I do like to have this mascara on hand, that way if I am ever in need of more eye drama I can whip out this awesome little kit and go to town! Plus at $10 you really can’t beat the price for the quality you are getting

Magic in a bottle?! Pureology nanoworks conditoner

After having my hair go from blonde, to red, to blonde, to blue, to black, and finally …back to red its obviously in need of some major TLC

Enter Pureology Nanoworks conditioner.

nano_system

These products are definitely not your drug store quality hair care, and sadly they don’t come with the drugstore pricing either 😦 but in all honesty I think this conditioner is totally worth it! (and I’m not the type who likes to splurge on products)

I bought mine at ulta for $58. Not going to lie, I felt like I was going to have a heart attack paying that much for a conditioner, but the formula is extremely concentrated so it has lasted me over 3 months, compared to other conditioners that I have to glob onto my head, nano works has worked out WAY better!

This conditioner really moisturizes my dry hair and helps add shine, not to mention control the frizz. My hair dresser told me that this shampoo and conditioner duo helps to regain hairs health after every use..I have yet to try the shampoo but I can see how using the two would make anyone have AMAZING hair.

The scent of this conditioner is another reason why I LOVE this product. It smells so delicious, and when I use it, I have to stop myself from sniffing my hair all day like a weirdo >.<  The scent is a combination of mandarin oranges, rose, lavender, bergamot, vanilla and jasmine. Not sure if you can imagine that but.. YUMMY!!

Lastly, I don’t use this every time I shower, and I try to wash my hair 2-3 times a week so that the natural oils don’t get stripped out. I like to switch between two shampoos and conditioners so that my hair doesn’t get used to a specific product and stop showing all the wonderful benefits it provides. I will continue my hunt for more hair products that I think are worth raving about, but so far nanoworks is at the top of the list

What your skin is trying to tell you about your inner health!

A few years ago I cam across something called facial mapping while studying for my esthetician (skin care) license at the ICE institute in Texas. I had never heard of facial mapping before but the idea was super interesting. For those of you who have no idea what facial mapping is, it is the idea that different sections/zones of your facial skin are relaying information about your internal health, so that random outbreak might not be so random!

Lets take a look at facial mapping and the different zonesfacemapping--z

Zones 1 & 3: The Digestive System

This zone is associated with the bladder and digestive system. If this area is your trouble zone it could be that you need to up your water intake, or switch your diet to a more “clean” form of eating, drink more green tea, lower your fat and sugar intake, and eat more fruits and veggies

Zone 2: Liver

This zone is associated with the liver. Although alcohol is the first thing that pops to mind when thinking about liver issues, that might not be the only thing to cut back on if this is your trouble zone. Try lowering your dairy intake as well and if problems still arise talk to your doctor about a possible food allergy/ intolerance.

Zones 4, 6, 8 and 10: Kidneys

If you are noticing troubles in these zones, with either hot, red ears, or dark circles around the eye area, up your water intake. This problem area could be a sign of dehydration. Try to drink at least 8 cups of water a day, and cut back on caffeine and alcohol. If you have a hard time drinking water download “the plant nanny”, it is a super cute app that will help motivate and remind you to drink more water

Zones 5 & 9: Respiratory system

This zone is associated with the respiratory system so if you are a smoker or have a lot of allergies you might notice more trouble in these zones in the form of small broken capillaries  “Commonly found on the nose and cheek areas, these small red or pink ‘threads’ are part of the extensive vein network that carries the blood supply of the face”

An example of what that might look like is below

Zone 11 & 13: Hormones

My least favorite zone, this is associated with Hormones! Every woman can tell when their hormones are a little “whacked out” (probably from that time of month) and the skin usually always takes a dive until things are back to normal. There is not too much that can be changed regarding hormonal issues, but having a good skin care regiment, drinking lots of water, and working out always help minimize the issues that flare up.

Zone 12: Stomach

This is associated with the stomach and is focused on your diet. If you notice this as your trouble zone, try getting on a cleanse to flush out toxins from your body and slowly switching over to a more “clean” form of eating. In later posts I will provide some clean eating foods/ ideas to help!

Zone 14: Illness

This zone is associated with illness and stress. Try to take it easy. Sit back and take some time to enjoy something relaxing, whether that be a nice cup of tea, reading a book while curling up in the couch, or taking a nap!

I hope you enjoyed this information and that it helps in some way, I will be posting more about products, education, tutorials, and more soon!
